Walmart is shaking things up and adapting their style for the new age. The nation’s biggest private employer is trying out new dress codes in a some of their stores, hoping that more relaxed standards could help make employees want to stay - and attract some new ones.
The changes that will take place are: jeans will be allowed. Previously only khakis or black denim was permissible. The jeans must be a solid blue color and of course "in good condition." As for shirts, employees will be allowed to wear shirts of any solid color, rather than just blue or white. However, one less progressive change is that visible facial tattoos will be forbidden for those hired after April 14.
This isn't the first time Walmart has altered the dress code. The store made changes back in 2015, allowing the cart pushers and garden-center staff to wear t-shirts rather than collared shirts. Black denim was also added that year.
