ODU students featured in Amazon Prime show about college life

The second episode of the new season is all about the home of the Monarchs.

NORFOLK, Va. — If you or someone you know is considering attending Old Dominion University (ODU), Amazon Prime is giving an inside look into the Norfolk school in its latest installment of "The College Tour."

"The College Tour" dives into campus life at universities across the U.S. and even the world. ODU is the first and only Virginia institution to be featured in the show.

Season 11's episode two is all about the home of the Monarchs. It features ten ODU students who talk about their academics, Greek Life, housing, sports, career preparation and ODUGlobal.

“Especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important than ever to make higher education accessible to everyone,” said Jaime Hunt, the ODU vice president of University Communications. “'The College Tour’ provides prospective students access to college campuses they otherwise might not see, and I am excited that ODU will now be introduced to a newer, wider audience.”

Since its debut in 2020, "The College Tour" has aired 150 episodes with "The Amazing Race" winner Alex Boylan as host and producer.

“It was such a pleasure to highlight these amazing individuals and take a trip around such a beautiful, dynamic campus,” said Boylan. “I can’t wait for you to see this episode, to see Old Dominion through the eyes of those who have found a home here.”

For more information about the ten local students participating, check out ODU's website here.

The episode is available to watch on Amazon Prime here.
