Tickets for 2024 Something in the Water go on sale this week

With about a month until the festival, attendees finally know when they can buy tickets for SITW 2024 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Initial information about ticket sales for Something in the Water 2024 was announced Thursday, about a month before the music festival is set to take place.

The festival lineup announcement is now expected Friday, according to a social media announcement by festival organizers.

SITW ticket sales will begin Friday, Sept. 13 and will initially be restricted to Virginia residents, based on zip code. People will be required to show an ID with a local address and will be limited to two passes per order.

The "locals only sale" will take place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach. Virginia residents will be able to purchase festival passes without fees at the in-person sale: general admission for $180 and VIP for $450.

13News Now spoke to several potential ticket buyers who are split on whether or not they are willing to pay for tickets without knowing who could be on stage.

"Before I go out and buy them, come on Pharrell, tell us who is going to be on stage," said potential festival-goer Cynthia Nwokocha.

The general admission wristband will allow entry to both days of the festival, which is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, and Sunday, Oct. 13. It includes access to the main lineup, activities, food & drink vendors, and all general admission areas of the festival.

VIP wristbands also allow entry to both days of the festival, including a dedicated VIP entrance, viewing in front of both stages, elevated restrooms, free water stations, dedicated VIP lockers and festival merch stand, exclusive food and beverage offerings.

The two-day festival will take place at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, coinciding with the release of the Pharrell Williams' LEGO biopic "Piece by Piece" on Friday, October 11. The movie is an animated LEGO-style film that chronicles Pharrell’s childhood in Virginia Beach.

Festival performances are expected to take place on two main stages. In past years, performances have started each day around noon and headliners wrapped up around midnight.

In addition, there will be "activations along the Oceanfront, Oceanfront parks, and in other areas of the city," a source close to Pharrell told 13News Now.
