VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — 'Virginia is for Lovers' and on this Valentine's Day, we're headed to a place your sweetie may want to try!
If you can't travel abroad this Valentine's Day, but want to feel like you're living the Parisian life, come visit Lamia's Crepes.
"I grew up with it and I started making them since maybe I was six or eight years old," said owner Lamia Pappas.
She has two locations, one in Norfolk and the newest one at Town Center in Virginia Beach.
For those who aren't familiar with crepes, they're basically very thin pancakes, served several different ways with a variety of fillings.
"You can have them sweet or savory with butter and sugar or caramel sauce. You can add chicken, spinach and mushrooms. You can even make eggs on it for breakfast," said Pappas.
Lamia, who grew up in Paris wanted to bring the french delicacy to Hampton Roads.
"Her customers love her and it's authentic," said General Manager Sally Gonzalez.
"I found her to be so inspiring as far as her interests. Her creative selections and all these types of crepes," said customer Pamela Racine.
The most popular crepes on the menu are the strawberry-banana with Nutella and the smores with torched marshmallows and chocolate drizzle.
For this Valentine's Day expect a new flavor: red velvet.
Lamia's Crepes is open from 7 a.m. to 10 pm Friday.
You can find them at 401 Granby Street in Norfolk and 216 Town Center Drive in Virginia Beach. Click here for menu and hours.
