YWCA in Norfolk hosts 'Women's Wellness Collective'

It's their second annual education fair that aims to educate, empower, and motivate the community through knowledge sharing.

NORFOLK, Va. — Eliminating racism and empowering women year-round: this month the YWCA South Hampton Roads is hosting its Women's Wellness Collective in honor of Women's History Month.

It's their second annual education fair that aims to educate, empower, and motivate the community through knowledge sharing, as well as embracing self-care as healing.

"We want women to understand that education is a doorway, it's a path for future success for gaining knowledge and changing the course of their families," said Michelle Ellis Young, the Chief Executive Officer for YWCA-South Hampton Roads. "We'll also focus on some things that give us that self-care that we need, so we'll have a yoga expert there [and] we'll have a fitness expert there. We're making sure that we're celebrating all that makes women great and do the work that needs to be done."

The event will be held on March 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YWCA offices located at 606 West 29th Street in Norfolk.

The Women's Wellness Collective is being done in partnership with the Education Alliance of Coastal Virginia (EACOVA), and is free and open to the public.
