CHESAPEAKE, Va. — The JCA Foundation is hosting its annual Kidz Kruz, a fun event to show children the benefit of giving back.
This is the 18th year that JCA has hosted the event. Kidz Kruz invites 1,000 kids from area Title 1 schools in the area to go on a holiday shopping spree. This year, they are going to Oscar Smith Middle School in Chesapeake this Sunday.
The event features stations for crafts, holiday sing-along, sweatshirt distribution, a visit with Santa, a pizza dinner and more.
The kids filled out a wish list before the event and school counselors purchased gifts off the list to distribute at the event. The kids also get a $20 Walmart gift card to buy something for themselves and their family members.
After all that they drive by bus to the Holiday Lights at the Beach in Virginia Beach. The event is focused on showing children the benefit of giving back and showing them the true reason for the season.
You can help the JCA Foundation expand its outreach to more kids by donating on its website, where you can find more information on the event.
