VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — “If you enjoy pizza, it’s one of the best places to be," says Myron Parker, a customer of Bodacious Bakehouse.
Having only been open for a year and a half, Bodacious Bakehouse in Virginia Beach has quickly become a local favorite around town.
"It started in the backyard. We built a wood-fired oven. We started baking breads and pizzas for our friends and families and they thought we should take it on the road so we opened a bunch of food trucks," says owner Terri Sutryk.
It wasn’t long before Bodacious Bakehouse opened a more permanent location off of Aragona Boulevard serving fresh, homestyle items daily.
"In the morning time, we focus on pastries, breakfast pastries, our made from scratch homemade breads and then we transition into lunch where we use those breads for our gourmet sandwiches, subs, calzones and pizzas," Sutryk says.
Hands down, if you're looking for a local pizza spot, Bodacious lives up to its name—and in case you were wondering what the most bodacious item on the menu is, Terri has her pick.
“The number one seller is called the Harvest Bread. The Harvest Bread is to die for. I love it."
