HAMPTON, Va. — The Virginia Black Film Festival is coming to Hampton University later this month to showcase short films, feature films and more.
The festival will take place on Feb. 24 and 25 in association with the Hampton University School of Liberal Arts and Education.
Event organizers said people will be able to experience films across different genres from both international and domestic filmmakers, many including famous actors such as Michelle Hurd, Taye Diggs, Jamal Woolard, Sean Patrick Thomas and Reginae Carter.
The festival will also host educational panels and seminars, including a distribution panel, production master class and discussion on the film production lifestyle.
Actor Clifton Powell, who has appeared in more than a hundred films and has had several television roles, will be presented with a 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award, event organizers said.
