'The Barber of Seville' coming to the Virginia Opera

The famous comedy "The Barber of Seville" opens Friday in Norfolk at the Virginia Opera.

NORFOLK, Va. — The Virginia Opera's production of "The Barber of Seville" is ready to take center stage!

Gioachino Rossini's 1816 comedy is "a witty tale of bribery, deception, disguise, and of course, true love," the Virginia Opera said.

The opera is sung in Italian but features English subtitles.

There will be three performances this weekend in Norfolk: Friday, November 3 at 7:30, Saturday at 7:30 with the alternate cast, and a final show on Sunday at 2:30. The production will then head to Fairfax for two shows next weekend, and then two final shows in Richmond on November 17 and 19.
