Paul McCartney photo exhibit drew 25K visitors to Norfolk's Chrysler Museum

The iconic photographs brought thousands to the museum and generated huge revenue success while the exhibit was featured in Hampton Roads.

NORFOLK, Va. — It's time for Hampton Roads to say goodbye to the personal photographs from musical legend Paul McCartney. 

Scores of people gathered to get a first-hand look into Paul McCartney's life while his exhibit was on display at Norfolk's Chrysler Museum of Art.

Over the past five months, Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-1964: Eyes of the Storm gave visitors the opportunity to see The Beatles' launch into stardom from an inside perspective. 

This was the first time these pictures were on display in the United States. 

On Wednesday, employees at the Chrysler Museum of Art packed up dozens of images of The Beatles taken by none other than Sir Paul himself.

According to the Chrysler Museum, the exhibit brought close to 25,000 visitors, some from as far as California. The merchandise from the exhibit generated more than $100,000 in sales. And museum officials say it boosted memberships and the Chrysler's visibility with nationwide.
