Chrysler Museum in Norfolk launches summer series for family fun

Each Wednesday in July, the museum will have fun-filled activities for children of all ages and abilities.

NORFOLK, Va. — With summer break well underway in Hampton Roads, the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk has a series of events for families to get involved in!

The museum is launching a weekly series during July called Wonder Wednesdays. It will feature hands-on, multi-sensory activities for all ages and abilities.

"Families of all ages have something to do," said Emily Cayton, Chrysler's school and teacher programs coordinator. "They can come and make art in all the different galleries we have, or they can travel to Kaufman Theater and experience some really punchy performances from groups around town. And each Wednesday has a different theme inspired by the elements of art and principles of design."

Wonder Wednesdays, which will happen from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., is free. Families can just show up to enjoy the interactive fun.

"We want wonder to happen throughout the museum," explained Cayton.
