Miles Hood joined the 13News Now team in January 2024.
He was born and raised in Rochester, NY (near Lake Ontario). Before coming to 13 News, he reported in Portland, Maine, where he covered a variety of topics in southern Maine including the Lewiston mass shootings, politics, sports, homelessness, school districts, community events, and tourism.
He received his bachelor’s at Rochester Institute of Technology where he studied Communication, Anthropology, Sociology, and Hospitality. At RIT he wrote in the sports section for the student-run Reporter Magazine.
After graduating, Miles went on to get his master's in Broadcast & Digital Journalism at the S.I Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. There he covered a variety of topics and issues in Central NY including sports, politics, drug addiction, as well as a short stint covering Capitol Hill. He also co-hosted a morning radio show on Z89.
Miles is an avid gamer; his favorites are sports games like NBA 2K and FIFA. He also loves adventure games like Jedi Fallen Order, The Last of Us, and Uncharted.
He also likes to cook, play basketball and other sports. He also loves Broadway musicals and movies.
