Emily Harrison is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who joined 13News Now in August 2022 as a reporter and multi-skilled Journalist.
Emily is no stranger to Virginia. Before moving to Norfolk, she was the Live Morning Reporter and Multi-Media Journalist for 2 years at NBC12 in Richmond. There, she reported on a wide range of issues including the removal of the Confederate statues along Monument Avenue, a fire that completely destroyed Fox Elementary School, and the 50-mile closure of I-95 caused by a snowstorm that left thousands of drivers stranded for nearly 30 hours.
Prior to that, Emily was a reporter and weekend anchor in Lubbock, Texas where she thrived on breaking news, told heart-wrenching stories of survivors of sexual assault, and even chased a wild pig throughout the city limits.
Emily is a proud graduate of Elon University in North Carolina where she double majored in broadcast journalism and political science. During the summers between semesters, Emily interned at WRDE Coast-TV in Lewes, Delaware and FOX29 in Philadelphia.
Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Emily is a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan (Go Birds!) and a lover of Philadelphia cheesesteaks and all things Philly. When off the clock, Emily can usually be found soaking up the sun at Hampton Roads beaches, dining at one of the area’s many restaurants, or watching Netflix with her rescue cat, Wednesday, snuggled up on her lap.
You can email Emily and follow her on Facebook and Twitter.
