NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A multi-vehicle crash on the MMMBT was causing major delays on I-664 South Thursday morning.
According to VDOT, all south lanes were closed on the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel. Backups span miles. The north right lane and right shoulder were also closed. Virginia State Police worked to clear the roadways and get traffic flowing.
Virginia State Police say that 5 cars were involved in the crash which happened around 6:15 a.m.
One person has minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
