Police identify motorcyclist who died in crash on Granby Street

Norfolk police identified 35-year-old Eamon A. Alexander as the motorcyclist who died after speeding and weaving in and out of traffic.

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) — Police identified the motorcyclist who died following a single-vehicle crash on Granby Street Monday afternoon.

An officer saw a motorcycle speeding and recklessly weaving in-and-out of traffic in the 4100 block of Granby Street around 4:45 p.m. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop; however, the motorcyclist refused to stop and sped away.

Eamon A. Alexander, 35, was identified as the driver of the motorcycle.

While the Alexander was running from the officer, he lost control, left the roadway and hit a parked car. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There were no other vehicles involved and no other injuries reported.
