WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — A pilot is recovering after his small, single-engine plane crashed while landing on Friday afternoon.
According to Virginia State Police, Robert Walden of Fayetteville, Georgia, was approaching the runway at Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport when he reportedly had issues. The plane, a VANS RV Sport model, crashed and flipped upside down.
Walden was able to get himself out of the aircraft and was taken to Riverside Doctors' Hospital in Williamsburg for non-life-threatening injuries.
The FAA is on scene and the NTSB has also been notified to conduct a crash investigation.
