ACCOMAC, Va. (WVEC) -- A boater in distress received a lift, thanks to a US Navy helicopter.
According to Naval Air Force Atlantic, a 53-year-old fisherman got his boat stuck in the mud near Wachapreague on Friday. The fisherman sent out a distress call, and an MH-60S Sea Hawk assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Support Squadron Two responded.
The helicopter's Search and Rescue swimmer was deployed to the boat, and the fisherman was safely hoisted aboard the helicopter.
The fisherman, who was unhurt, was flown to Accomack Regional Airport, where he was picked up by members of his family.
