MOYOCK, NC (WVEC) -- Investigators are looking into what caused a fire to break out inside a detached garage in Moyock on Thursday.

Moyock Fire Chief Robert Pervere said that members of the first-ever recruit class of the newly formed Currituck County Fire Department had been performing ladder rescue and victim removal training nearby when the call came in and responded with the training staff of Currituck County Fire-EMS. They assisted the Moyock Fire Department along with members of the Crawford Township Volunteer Fire Department.

The bulk of the fire was contained to one side of the garage, but the structure suffered significant damage. No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
