VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — An investigation is underway after officials say a fire tore through a two-story home in Virginia Beach Friday night, leaving four people without a home and killing two of their pets.
The fire broke out on Eagles Lake Road near Indian River Road just before 11:30 p.m. and fully engulfed the residence, according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department (VBFD). Crews managed to bring the blaze under control nearly an hour after it first ignited.
Officials said no one was hurt but two cats did die. The four residents and their dog are displaced, however.
There's no word on what started the fire at this time.
