SUFFOLK, Va., (WVEC) -- Two residents were displaced after a heavy fire damaged a two-story home in Suffolk Tuesday night, a media release said.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews arrived around 10:41 p.m. in the 5900 block of Bennetts Creek Lane and found heavy fire coming from the home's roof, Cpt. John Gray said in the media release.
The residents evacuated before firefighters arrived.
According to the release "crews immediately began an interior attack but then had to pull out for a defensive attack."
Additional assistance was provided by Chuckatuck Volunteer Fire Department, Carrolton Volunteer Fire Department and Chesapeake Fire Department.
There were no injuries.
