An 82-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being pulled from a burning home in Suffolk.
Emergency Communications was contacted around 4:16 p.m. Tuesday, January 1 for a burning home in the 100 block of Maple Street.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue arrived at the scene at 4:18 p.m. according to Battalion Chief Dave Harrell. Arriving crews found heavy smoke coming from a one-story home.
the 82-year-old was pulled from the house and taken to a local hospital. He is in critical condition.
Crews had the fire under control at 4:56 p.m on Tuesday.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
