SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A house fire was quickly brought under control in Suffolk Thursday afternoon.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded to the 200 block of N. Capital Street around 12:45 p.m. after receiving several calls from passersby about a house on fire.
Arriving firefighters found a single-story home with fire and smoke coming from the residence. No occupants were found inside.
Several rooms had caught fire, but crews were able to bring it under control by 1:10 p.m. No injuries are reported, and it is not immediately clear how many people have been displaced by the fire.
The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating what may have caused the fire.
