The Newport News Fire Department was back on the scene of a house fire they battled Wednesday.
The fire was in the Denbigh section of the city in the 100 block of Binnacle Drive.
Everyone who lives in the house, including pets, are safe, but they were displaced. The American Red Cross assisted the family.
Firefighters needed to return to the scene around 9:30 Thursday morning after the fire reignited due to some active embers. The fire was considered minor.
The department said Wednesday that the wind made the battle difficult.
According to fire officials, the fire appears to have started in the garage. Newport News Fire Department Investigators are on scene to assist with the origin and cause.
