DAYTON, Maine — Maine State Police is investigating the death of a woman reported missing out of Newport News, who was found Monday in a parked car in Dayton.
Just before 3:30 p.m. on Monday officials received a 911 call reporting a deceased woman inside a car parked near Goodwins Mills Road, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release on Tuesday.
Moss said the woman matched the description of 23-year-old Autumn Danielle Cleveland. Virginia State Police said Cleveland was reported missing out of Newport News on August 31.
State officials said there was no danger to the public relating to the case.
Police said an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
