Sad news. Two-year-old Seito, a pet fox that went missing in Chesapeake on Tuesday, was found by his owner Saturday — but has died.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) — A missing pet fox was found by its owner Saturday but it has died.

Emily Lusk's pet fox, Seito, went missing from the Brentwood area of Chesapeake on the Portsmouth line on Tuesday.

Lusk sent a text message to a 13News Now reporter Saturday saying she found Seito but that he had died.

According to Lusk's Facebook post on Lost & Found Pets - Hampton Roads, Va., her roommate let the fox into the garage, where he was able to escape.

The fox was micro-chipped. Lusk had a permit through the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries to own 2-year-old Seito.
