US Marshals: 'Peaches' arrested for attempted murder

Dominique Fowler, known as Peaches, was arrested by U.S. Marshals for allegedly trying to light someone, and their house, on fire in 2017.

NORFOLK, Va. — After two years on the run and thanks to a tip from a member of the public, a woman accused of attempted murder is behind bars.

Dominique Fowler, 33, is charged in connection to an incident where she poured gasoline on a victim who was held at gunpoint, before attempting to light the victim and her house on fire while a small child was also present. This happened in November 2017 in the 500 block of Lenora Avenue in Portsmouth.

The U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force arrested Fowler without incident in Melrose Park, Illinois, a suburb in Chicago, Saturday.

Warrants out for Fowler's arrest included charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Arson, Robbery, Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Assault.

At the time of arrest, Fowler was using an I.D. card belonging to another person.

Fowler will be held in the custody of the Cook County Department of Corrections while awaiting return to Virginia.
